Empty Handed Once Again

Empty Handed Once Again

Armed with a new confidence following our ‘Fishing/Cooking’ class I wrangled my crew together and we headed out into the harbor to troll for some fish. We trolled from Castle Island to Squantum, from Squantum to the lighthouse, from the lighthouse to Deer Island, and from Deer Island to the airport pier. Unfortunately, as has been the case this entire season, the only thing we caught out there was some sun and a buzz. It’s becoming apparent to me that I’m the only Portuguese man to have been born with out the fishing DNA. On a down note, we did have a run in with a real jackhole. Nothing worse than to be trolling along and have some idiot come ripping through your lines. He took the lure off of one pole and took everything but the pole on the other.

The highlight of the day likely came at the very end. When we turned the corner to head beneath the Tobin we were greeted by an absolutely stunning sunset. The Bandit strikes again.

Sure looks like I'm a fisherman.
