The Gangs all here.

The Gangs all here.

This past weekend my younger brother (Joshua) and his girlfriend (Kristen) made the trip up to Boston for a visit. The weather couldn’t have cooperated more. Despite the fact that fall had officially begun here in Boston, we found ourselves taking down the bimini top and basking in the warm sun.

My weekend began Friday with my first ever commute to work by boat. Once again, The Barking Crab, turned out to be a godsend. I was able to dock there for the day as I worked in a nearby office. Aside from a brief scolding by the harbor police, the commute was fantastic.

The rest of the weekend was chock full of boating and we likely spent about 8-10hours aboard the Sunset Bandit. We made a few runs into the city for dinner and sunset viewings and also enjoyed a day long fishing outing which also included our sister (Kara). Unfortunately, the fish proved to be terribly elusive. The only thing we managed to catch was one another’s lines. Wait, Kristen did managed to catch my bimini top with an errant cast. Does that count?

Perhaps the Sunset Bandit isn’t destined for a life of fishing. But…I’ll be sure to try again very soon.

Still…you can’t beat the serenity of the Boston Harbor at night. It’s a pretty powerful thing to experience…and it may even have brought one passenger to tears.

Great shot that Kara took
